Day 1 - Hard Start

It's the usual trouble. I'm now used to monophasic sleep unlike in August attempt. Before that attempt I didn't enjoy monophasic sleep, something didn't "click". But now I'm totally into it. I'm recalling dreams, really sleeping in and I need some time to fall asleep again. I'm not falling asleep in a click like at best when I was napping during last attempt. 20 minutes is just the time I get tired enough to fall asleep. But small trouble at the start was expected.

So I just did the typing tests. Not much can be deduced from them, I shouldn't be having any sleep deprivation. My control result for Finnish was top stuff from me, though that score is still too big of a drop, I just couldn't get it going for some reason. English result improved as practise is starting to show.

Uh-huh. This isn't good. I feel absolutely terrible. I didn't know sleep-deprivation could hit me this hard. Already! Damn you 8+ hour darkness! I actually lied in bed until 6:25, but luckily I was awake for the whole time, just shifting my alarm later minute after minute. Bed feels so good, it's takes huge amount of willpower to get up. But I must reprogram myself back to springing up instantly.

At least I'm not waking up with a sore throat.

I woke up very early and had to wait for a long time for the alarm. In fact, it never came as I got up suspicious whether it was on exactly 9:59. That said, supershort sleep was helpful at getting me up. Now it's easy sailing for the daytime.

To be honest I don't remember sleeping, but my there was light jaw pain and I had a sore throat, both are symptoms that normally come from sleeping, well sore throat is still aftermath of the flu, but anyway, it seems to indicate that I indeed did sleep. I managed to come up with a good idea for a writing all the while too, so it was a productive 20-minute for me.

Again I don't properly remember falling asleep but I don't remember staying awake either. The day hasn't been that hard so far but I'm not expecting to have a good time at night.

These things happen in day one. I was just starting to creep into sleep when the alarm sounded. There was distractions that kept me partly awake but mostly it was just lack of being tired.

Day is pretty much over and I'm relieved. I'm extremely tired. It's 20 minutes to nap time, luckily. But I know in my heart that I'm not in for a happy time tonight. Getting up is a challenge in itself. At the moment I have no back-up alarms, so if I sleep through my phone, then I oversleep. The encouraging thing is that I have done that very little, barely at all recently. But I really have a feeling for a good night's sleep right now. I hate the thought of going to bed now only to wake up 20 minutes later feeling even more destroyed. I'm going to publish this now, wish me luck to the second day.. I'm going to need it. I'm not keeping my hopes up for success.
